A loan of $ 4,000 helps to buy a dry mill to improve his coffee production. He hopes with this investment to increase his production and get a better quality product.

At the moment he has to dry his coffee with the support of a local cooperative in Capucas. We believe that the dry mill can improve and cut the cost of the coffee process.

Cutting the cost will help to save money and invest and preserve the coffee shop (named "Toma Cafe") that they own in Cucuyagua in tha Copan area. The coffee shop is helping him to change tha way of mind of the local people that come to drink a coffee.

General objectives:

  1. Maintain the quality and safety of dry parchment;
  2. Reduce coffee drying time compared to patio drying;
  3. Use solar radiation better for coffee drying;
  4. Reduce pollution caused by dryers that operate on the basis of firewood, gas or other fuel.

My motivation is moved from the strenght of Fernando's family and after that I lived 8 months in Honduras I saw how they are working hard to change the quality of the coffee plantation in Copan. I believe that this investment will give his family a better quality of life and a greater economic stability that would enable him to continue growing as a person and as a micro entrepreneur.

ADVANTAGES OF THE SOLAR DRYER

  1. The natural quality of the grain is preserved.
  2. Faster drying of coffee.
  3. Do not enter coffee at night or when it is raining.
  4. Ease of obtaining construction materials to use.
  5. Construction of these in coffee areas and in rainy places and ice cream where excellent results are obtained.
  6. In season when coffee is not harvested, it can be used to dry corn, beans, firewood or fruits
  7. Lower construction cost compared to concrete yards.

He needs at least $4,000 to build the new dry mill. The project is already written and we are looking to a way to get the money to reach our goal.
